Wisconsin Energy Initiative
Developed and implemented the Wisconsin Energy Initiative, which is a creative strategy to increase energy efficiency, renewable energy use, and recycling in state owned facilities. Over a ten year period, this initiative will save taxpayers $60 million and create hundreds of high quality technical jobs (refer certificates below).
Former Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson stated, "The Wisconsin Energy Initiative is demonstrating the advantages of several fundamental changes in the way we have traditionally designed and implemented energy policies. As we have done successfully in so many other areas, we have shifted the focus of government away from regulation and legislation toward the use of public/private partnerships and competitive market forces to accomplish Wisconsin's goals. This approach more effectively captures the ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit that are the hallmark of the people of Wisconsin. In addition, it is designed to be flexible and attentive to the evolving needs of Wisconsin residents and businesses, while guaranteeing the personal freedom to chose the energy options that are best suited to their needs." |
